5 Contracts That MUST Be in Writing
We totally get it - some agreements aren't worth getting them on paper. Maybe it's just a small project or it's with someone you trust. BUT did you know that there are agreements that MUST be in writing in order to be legit under the law? If you're an entrepreneur and/or freelancer, a lot of them will look familiar to you.
So... why does it matter that your contract is legit?
None of us can predict the future. Even if it's with someone you trust, you can't guarantee that there won't be any miscommunications or missteps. With a legal contract, you may have options to recover if things unexpectedly go south. Without one, it's like you never had a deal in the first place.
So next time you find yourself saying to a friend, "Yes, I'll lease your garage for the next three years as my startup office on a handshake!", think about this list and get that pen ready.
